The wax guard is used to protect the vulnerable components of the earphones that are inserted into the ear. Since speakers can be damaged if they come into contact with earwax, fluid, or dead skin, the use of a wax barrier is important.
It is easy to replace the wax guard yourself. It should be changed about once a month, or as needed.
The wax barrier must be changed if the wearer experiences any of the following problems:
- Hearing aids are quieter than usual.
- The hearing aids does not make sound.
- Sound is intermittent
In these situations, the reflex is often to replace the battery, which is the right thing to do. However, if the problem persists, changing the wax guard should be considered.
